The 2011 Formosan Cup softball tournament is quickly approaching. This tournament has been widely regarded as one of the premier Asian softball events in all of North America and is hosted by the Taiwanese Canadian Association of Toronto. As always, this year’s tournament will be held at Markham’s best softball facilities, Milliken Mills Community Center, as well as at Berczy Park. It will be held on Canada’s Civic Holiday Long Weekend (July 30 to August 1) and will have four different divisions from Men’s Competitive to Co-Ed 3 Pitch Recreational. The dates of each division’s times are listed below:

• Saturday & Sunday, July 30 and 31, 2011 (Men’s Competitive)
• Saturday & Sunday, July 30 and 31, 2011 (Co-ed 3 Pitch Recreational)
• Sunday & Monday, July 31 and August 1, 2011 (Co-Ed 3 Pitch Intermediate)
• Sunday & Monday, July 31 and August 1, 2011 (Co-ed Slo Pitch)

In addition, the Formosan Cup Opening Ceremonies will be held on Saturday at approximately 1:00 pm, followed by the always eventful HomeRun Derby. There will also be the TECO vs. TCAT friendly on Sunday afternoon, along with the Kids Event and the traditional church service on Sunday as well.
